The seed - paper animation

Here's a lovely little paper animation.

And even better, here's a video showing how the animation was created.

Scenographic projections

I can't see how this has anything to do with Puma shoes but apart from that it's a pretty nice movie clip showing the use of movie projections to create simple yet creative scenography.

Amazing Miniature Worlds

Anybody who has ever played with miniature models before will will love this!

The amazing tilt-shift footage by Keith Loutit gets my imagination going and a feeling of watching things in Godzilla perspective.

The poster for the much anticipated documentary Objectified by Gary Huswit came out yesterday.

Gary Huswit was also the director of the documentary about Helvetica.

Below is the trailer for the documentary.

Helvetica relived

I recently rekindled with the nice Helvetica documentary (2007).

One of my favourite characters was Erik Spiekerman. He hates Helvetica. It's hilarious to hear how much he hates it. Here a some of my favourite quotes:

Interviewer: "Why 50 years later is it - Helevatica - still so popular?

Erik Spiekerman:"Bad taste..."

Erik Spiekerman
:"Type is like a person. If you are slightly heavy in the middle. You are not going to walk around in a tight t-shirt. You'll look like an idiot. And helvetica is heavy in the middle."

Erik Spiekerman:"... you'd recognize any Marlboro ad miles away because of the stupid typeface. But if you use Helvetica... helloooo... It wouldn't quite work."

All of it is true... but how can you truly hate this all-applicable-default typeface? Perhaps because it's overused? Anonymous? It will "bore the shit out of you"? Check out the dvd if you need more reasons...

Below is a clip of the documentary - the part where you get introduced to Erik Spiekerman:
